Methodology

What we check, what we label, and what we don’t claim.

A directory is useful only when readers can tell what its information means. These are the publication standards planned for SoCal Pest Finder.

Sources and license checks

Before a profile is published, the directory plans to check the relevant public record with California’s Structural Pest Control Board and record the source and date of that check. The profile will identify the license information shown by the source at that time. A saved check is time-specific; it is not a guarantee that a license remains current.

Company-provided details

Contact details, service descriptions, service areas, and other business information may be supplied by the company. Those details will be labeled as company-provided and assigned a review date where appropriate. A submitted claim will not automatically make a profile verified or publish it.

Publication and ordering

At launch, there are no company profiles. If profiles are added later, the directory will explain the eligibility criteria and how the default order is determined. Paid relationships will be disclosed and will not be presented as independent verification. No ratings, review totals, rankings, or performance statistics are currently shown.

Corrections and removals

When a correction channel is available, the directory will review reports against source material, retain a record of material changes, and remove or correct information when warranted. No correction form is currently open.

Lead routing and commercial activity

The site does not currently collect consumer inquiries, route leads, sell contact information, or accept payment. Any future lead-routing or paid program requires separate review and clear disclosure before it is enabled.

These standards describe the intended process. Since the directory has not published profiles, no completed company review should be inferred from this page.
